Loss Prevention - New Roof
In March 2025, an historical windstorm blew the aged roof from the gymnasium, exposing the sheathing and the wooden substructure for the first time in the building's history. There are leaks in other parts of the building that are accelerating deterioration of nearby wooden and steel structural elements.
In July 2026 the Foundation commissioned a roof replacement work/bid package to be prepared by 1Architecture of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Fortunately, several donors have stepped forward with in-kind contributions of materials and general contracting improving our chances of being able to fund the project.
Our goal is to reroof the entire building as soon as possible, with the highest priority to reroof the gymnasium.
With timely and adequate funding that could happen this year.
We estimate that up to $150,000 additional funds are required to reroof the entire structure.
There is no path forward to restoring the function of the building that does not include a new roof over all.
